Ciaran came from Scotland in 2004 to work as an English teacher in the region. A thoroughbred cycling addict, he found our club through the first people to meet him at Caen when he arrived: my brother and sister in law. His kindness and positive outlook and spirit allowed him to integrate very quickly into our group and progress in learning to race.( Departmental champion road and time trial 2005 and 2006, Regional champion on road and time trial 2006 and qualified both years for the UFOLEP National championships, 2005 TT placed 3rd in the TTT and 8th individual as well as a total of 8 victories and numerous podium places) 4titles in the same year (regional and departmental RR and TT champion) was a first in our club and indeed in the region.

With a lot of sadness we let him head back to his native Scotland in 2006, missing his human qualities which brought us so much (myself particularly). But at his age studies and career paths are more important than rigid your bicycle in France. However we have made a pact with him that we will visit Scotland in 2008!
